My president is black, my lambo's blue

First and foremost, I would like to thank Mr. Jeezy for letting us know all about the ups and downs of the business cycle and therefore rightfully named his new CD "The Recession". He knows times are rough, thats why he spends most of the album rapping about guns, making a rediculous amount of money (rapping, or trying to protray a drug smuggler), fucking bitches and driving his blue Lambragini.
Anyway, I have been listening to the radio for the past couple weeks. I've noticed an influx of Obama related rap songs. From Young Jeezy's "My president is black" (Thanks Jeezy, I had no idea) to Ron Brownz "Pop Champagne" remix. Rap stations were also giving away tickets to Obama crunkfests before the inauguration. It's the change we all can believe in!

Young Jeezy ft. Nas "My President is Black"

Jeezy:
Yeah, be the realest shit I never wrote
I ain't write this by the way nigga, some real shit right here nigga
This'll be the realest shit you ever quote

My president is black, my Lambo's blue
And I'll be goddamned if my rims ain't too
......
Stuntin on Martin Luther, feelin just like a king
Guess this is what he meant when he said that he had a dream

first of all.... what the fuck is this shit. I am assuming people listen to his music because it is well produced and not for the lyrical content. Once again he reiterates that our president is black, and that his lambo is blue? I honestly don't know what to say about the comparison. I am just glad Jeezy passed kindergarten. Martin Luther's dream has manifested itself, with the inauguration of Obama and races and creeds all over America are united with a common goal. Of course his dream is not fully complete, with rappers portraying a heavily materialistic lifestyle, with people aspiring live the same lifestyle these rappers talk about.

Nas:
Mr. Black President, yo Obama for real
They gotta put your face on the five-thousand dollar bill

Thanks again Nas, I forgot he was black. Nas obviously would have alot of those five-thousand dollar bills and the common person would be very unlikely to get their hands on one. Should someone carry around that much money at one time? (Unless you deal drugs, or evading taxation)

I am not saying this to really attack rap, as I am a fan of it. I just wanted to shed some light on this because it's retarded. How can rappers talk seriously about politicians, then go out and rap about making money, guns and "bitches". There is probably a very good chance these rappers would blindly follow Obama without knowing his stances on issues. I thought that maybe because Obama spoke of change and progress, popular culture wouldn't stay the same and progress to something more enlightening. You can rap about anything, why stick with the same old boring shit.

Busta Rhymes Ft. Ron Brownz "Pop Champagne"

We pop champagne for Barack’s campaign
We voted for a change, now we made it
No disrespect to McCain or Palin
To all my people in the street that always bang this in their truck

- we pop champagne
